इससे स्पष्ट होता है कि वर्षा के बहते हुए पानी को रोककर तथा तालाबों में इकट्ठा करके कृषि में सब फसलों की सिंचाई के प्रयोग में लाया जाए । ऐसा करने से प्रतिवर्ष नलकूपों द्वारा जमीन से सिंचाई के लिए खींचने वाले पानी के दबाव को कम किया जा सकता है और अनियमित वर्षा के होने से नलकूप द्वारा जल को खींचकर सिंचाई करने की क्रिया को कम करके जल के गिरते स्तर को ऊंचा किया जा सकता है ।
जल संवर्द्धन संरक्षण के उद्देश्य - इसके मुख्य उद्देश्य निम्न है ।
1.भूमि की कमी को उड़ने से बचाना ।
2. भूमि की जलवा क्षमता बढ़ाकर अधिक से अधिक पानी भूमि के अंदर संचय करना ।
3. भूमि के अंदर जल स्तर बढ़ाना ।
4. बहकर जाने वाले पानी को भूमि में संचय करना और उसका सदुपयोग करना ।
जल संरक्षण के तरीके -
1 . सिंचाई की विधियां - ड्रिप सिंचाई एव बौहरी सिंचाई करके पानी के अव्यय को रोका जा सकता है
2 . भूमिगत जल संबंधी कानून - भूमिगत जल दुर्लभ संसाधन है अतः निजी तौर पर लगाए जाने वाले नलकूपों के अंदर गहराई और भूमि से लिए जाने वाले जल संबंध में कानून बनाया जाना चाहिए जिससे कि भूमिगत जल का आवश्यकता से अधिक दोहन ना हो ।
3 . वाटर हार्वेस्टिंग - वाटर हार्वेस्टिंग पद्धति में वर्षा जल एवं जल को एकत्रित कर उसे भूमिगत जल के स्रोत हो तथा नलकूप में डालते हैं इससे भूमिगत जल रिचार्ज होता है तथा उसका भू स्तर बढ़ता रहता है ।
